Chris Zuehlke

Chris Zuehlke is a Partner at DRW and serves as the Global Co-Head of Cumberland, leading a world class team dedicated to providing deep liquidity to institutional-sized investors. Chris is a proven leader in operational excellence and has been working at DRW for almost two decades across various trading disciplines. He has extensive experience building trading operations from the ground up and is skilled in software development, trade research, automated and OTC trading, compliance, operations, market structure and regulation design. Chris also co-founded DRW’s first algorithmic trading operation.
As one of the early leaders of the Cumberland team, Chris was responsible for building safe and reasonably designed trading and operational systems, including Cumberland’s electronic trading platforms Marea and the API. Chris previously served as Director of Front Office Technology for DRW where he managed various aspects of the firm’s front office software and infrastructure as well as oversaw risk management for the firm’s electronic trading systems.
Chris was also responsible for advocating for DRW and the trading industry in Washington around market structure and trading best practices, where he currently serves on the Commodities Futures Trading Commission’s Global Markets Advisory Committee.
Chris earned a BS in Mathematics and Computer Sciences with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has also served as an Executive Committee member and Advisor for the FIA Principal Traders Group.
