Coby Moran is Lead Investigator for Merkle Science, he and his team support the company’s clients in the event of a crypto crime - providing critical insights and reports on the flow of illicit funds. He also partners with the organization’s Innovation Team to expedite the process of data acquisition and enhance de-mixing capabilities, enabling Merkle Science to better serve its customers before, during and after an attack. 

Prior to joining Merkle, Coby worked as an FBI Analyst, where he consulted on a multitude of cryptocurrency cases involving ransomware, money laundering, ICO scams, and darknet marketplaces to name a few. He also consulted for multiple agencies advising on digital assets cases providing invaluable insights and leads. Coby holds two Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Spanish from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina.
