Shane leads the Investment Products division that provides products to improve the accessibility of cryptocurrency via traditional exchange-traded entities. The business launches its first product as a Bitcoin tracking certificate with the goal to roll out Structured Products on crypto assets via exchange-listed certificates. Prior to EQONEX, Shane was Managing Director at UBS, where he held various senior roles including Global Head of Solutions, Global Head of Equity Derivatives, and Global Head of Structuring. His businesses were awarded many of the industry’s top accolades including Best Equity Derivatives House and Best Structured Products House. Before UBS he held similar roles at RBS / ABN Amro and worked in derivatives at Deutsche Bank and at Macquarie Bank as well as a private hedge fund where he programmed and managed algorithmic trading models across liquid asset classes. Shane was the youngest-ever head of a major derivatives department, overseeing several hundred staff when he was 34 years old and was inducted into the Dow Jones Financial News ‘40 under 40 Hall of Fame’, having 6 years earlier been one of the youngest ever enlisted in the Dow Jones Top 100 Rising Stars in Finance. His academic work has been published in journals and won various accolades. He has regularly been cited by financial journalists and his work has been published in the Journal of Futures Markets, and Bloomsbury.
