Tarun Chitra is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gauntlet, the leading model provider in crypto and premier DeFi vault curator. Gauntlet manages risk across custom vault strategies and builds models safeguarding tens of billions of dollars in digital assets across the crypto ecosystem, driving capital efficiency and mitigating risk.

Under Tarun’s leadership, Gauntlet equips investors, builders, and token issuers with data-driven strategies to confidently allocate funds onchain by leveraging the most trusted crypto-economic research and analysis. Tarun’s research collaborations include more than 25 peer-reviewed papers on crypto and DeFi, and he is among the most cited contributors in DeFi economics.

He invests in fintech and blockchain companies through his fund Robot Ventures and is a biweekly contributor to Laura Shin’s investor podcast, "The Chopping Block." Tarun is an alumnus of D. E. Shaw Research (DESRES) and Vatic Labs, and holds a B.A. in mathematics and a B.S. in applied engineering physics from Cornell University.
