Visa | Global Head of CBDC and Tokenization
Catherine Gu is Visa’s Global Head of CBDC and Tokenized Assets. She heads Visa’s Global CBDC and tokenization program, alongside blockchain protocol research and development, building digital payment solutions with central banks, financial partners and global infrastructure technology companies. She is leading Visa’s engagements on CBDC projects with over 40 different central banks, alongside private firms and financial institutions. This includes being a key contributor to the BIS Innovation Hub’s Project Rosalind as well as initiatives around the world. Visa is currently actively involved in several tokenization projects, including with Central Bank of Brazil, Hong Kong Monetary Authority and several tier-one financial institutions in building and designing tokenization solutions to facilitate payments, capital investments and programmable finance.
