Catherine Gu is a Senior Director as Visa’s Global Head of CBDC and Tokenization, leading Visa’s digital currency program, building blockchain tokenization solutions with financial institutions, central banks and global technology companies. She also leads Visa’s crypto protocol team, collaborating with external blockchain partners to drive research and infrastructure exploration. Prior to Visa, Catherine worked at J.P. Morgan and hedge fund asset management company Man Group. She spent 2 years on stablecoin research while studying at Stanford University with Prof. Dan Boneh. She also worked at 2 crypto startups: Anchorage and Gauntlet. Catherine read Engineering at Stanford University, and Economics at the University of Cambridge.
