Steve is the Risk Leader for the firm’s market leading financial services teams working to "Build, Connect and Protect" the digital assets and cryptocurrencies ecosystem.  In this rapidly changing area, he advises on strategy, risk, regulatory and control concepts and overall market considerations as crypto-focused and traditional financial services firms consider their own market aspirations and risk tolerances.   His experience spans across all related regulatory authorities, helping firms better align their strategy to emergent needs while still meeting customer demands. He has specifically supported efforts related to expectations of state, federal and global regulatory and enforcement authorities.

Steve’s perspectives are unique and sought after as he has been able to draw from 30 years of financial services experience across numerous transformation and risk/control topics, and apply that experience to the rapidly changing and opportunistic crypto industry.   As an original architect of EY’s Financial Crime consulting services, he has unique perspectives on the challenges faced when considering this expanding market and disruption to traditional financial services. In addition to being a frequent speaker and writer on topics related to cryptocurrency strategy, he is also a Certified Cryptocurrency Expert (CCE) and Certified Anti–Money Laundering Specialist and multi-year recipient of EY’s Entrepreneur of the year award.
