Ethereum: Network REV (Real Economic Value)

A measure of Ethereum value accrual

About this Chart

Network REV (Real Economic Value) is the measure of user demand to transact and is the "top line" metric of a blockchain. It consists of all transaction fees and out-of-protocol tips (generally related to MEV) paid for transaction execution.

Base Fees: The minimum fee required for a transaction to be included in a block as determined by the mechanism described in EIP-1559.

Priority Fees: An additional fee to incentivize validators to prioritize and execute transactions.

Blob Fees: An additional cost for transactions that post data to "blobs," which are specialized data availability solutions for L2 blockchains.

MEV-Boost Tips: The fees for using the out-of-protocol system that enables users to send transactions, or a bundle of transactions, to block builders for faster transaction execution, MEV capture, or MEV protection.
